If you are already a believer of Jesus Christ, then I want to ask you this question. If Jesus was to come back for you today, would you be ready? Now, I want to ask you this other question. Are you helping others to be ready? In today’s post, I’m going to be talking about being ready for the return of Christ…because He is coming soon.
To some this is a scary thought. And to those who are watching and waiting, it’s a time of great expectancy. I believe without a shadow of a doubt that we are the chosen generation to see the return of Jesus Christ. And that’s why we have to be ready today and every day from here going forward. Jesus tells us in Luke 12:37 & 40, “There will be special favor for those who are ready and waiting for his return…You must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.” (NLT)
You have to be ready sis. We have to be ready. And we have to help others to be ready as well. It’s urgent. Pay attention to the news and Bible prophecy. Pay attention to the signs. Today, I want you to read Matthew 24. The whole chapter. And after reading it, I want you to pray. Please do it.
Also, stay alert. And don’t be discouraged. Keep the faith, no matter what. Now is not the time for any one of us to be wavering in our faith. Instead, we need to continue growing even stronger in our walk with Christ, while helping others make it to heaven as well. It’s time.
Ask the Lord for a mighty boldness to begin witnessing and sharing Christ with those you come in contact with. And when you pray, ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to the right person or to pick up the phone to talk to your friends and family members about Him. Just talk to them. God will give the right words to say. Don’t be afraid. Remember, it’s not about us. It’s about eternity.
Some people may think or say, “Jesus has been coming for so long now, we don’t believe that!” Press through it. The Bible warns us that in the last days, there will be scoffers. This is a dangerous thing and I hope you’re not one of them. 2 Peter 3:3-4 says, “…in the last days there will be scoffers who will laugh at the truth and do every evil thing they desire. This will be their argument: ‘Jesus promised to come back, did he? Then where is he? Why, as far back as anyone can remember, everything has remained exactly the same since the world was created.’” (NLT)
And 2 Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise to return, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so he is giving more time for everyone to repent.” (NLT) People will have an opportunity to receive Jesus Christ. But it’s up to them to do it and make that choice. It’s our job to help them.
As I prepare to close this post. Make yourself ready for Jesus’ soon return. Study God’s word and live it. James 1:21-22 says, “So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the message God has planted in your hearts, for it is strong enough to save your souls. And remember it is a message to obey, not just to listen to. If you don’t obey, you are only fooling yourself.” (NLT)
And most importantly, love people. In spite of their ways, love them. We have to. It’s a command to love our neighbors as ourselves. And we have to keep pressing to obey God’s word. Be the walking word like Jesus was. Live it out in action so that others will see the light. And by all means focus on doing what God has called you to do.
I’ll end with this Scripture which pertains to the Rapture (i.e. the taking away of the church). Jesus tells us in Matthew 24:40-42 says, “Two men will be working in the field; one will be taken, the other left. Two women will be grinding flour at the mill; one will be taken, the other left. So be prepared, because you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.” That time is coming. Be ready!
Remember that Jesus is coming back soon! And those who endure unto the end shall be saved. So let’s be ready from the Inside Out.
