Where are you today? Are you at a crossroad as it relates to direction? Are you trying to figure out which decision to make on something pretty major in your life? Are you needing God’s direction right now? And lastly, what is it?
Whatever it is, pause and pray. Ask God to show you clearly what you need to do. But when He reveals it to you, follow His direction. Don’t waver, because He’s faithful to give you the wisest answer.
In James 1:5-6, the writer tells us, “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.” Again, when God shows you my sister, follow His lead.
And listen. Most times the answer is found directly from the Word of God. And the reason why I say most times sis because it is, but we can also gain wisdom from the Holy Spirit Himself and through others. In other words, the Lord uses many ways to give us direction.
Now of course, whenever you’re getting any advice or counsel through someone other than the Bible itself, pray ahead and use discernment. Yet, my point here is that following God’s direction can come from the Word directly, the Holy Spirit, divine messengers, and even through technology, today.
For instance, I can recall a time when I was driving back home from Dallas, I was following directions through my GPS. However, at one point while I was driving, I wondered if I had missed a turn and if I needed to turn back (even though the GPS hadn’t told me to reroute). I still wondered if I’d missed the right direction. Until I heard a still small voice whisper to me, “Just follow My direction.” I knew it was the Holy Spirit leading me to keep moving forward by way of the GPS.
And guess what? I hadn’t missed my turn. I trusted the Holy Spirit’s prompting, through the natural device of a GPS, and I reached my destination. Are you getting it, sis?
If you ever think you’ve missed it as it relates to possibly being misguided or God's will, ask the question, “Did I miss you, Lord?” Trust me. If you want answers, pray and ask for divine wisdom. He promises to give it to you.
Also, when you talk to a trusted friend, family member, mentor, or counselor, pray that the Lord will use that individual to give you sound advice that comes straight from the throne of God. And lastly, seek God’s Word directly. The Bible tells us in Psalm 119:105, “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” In addition, Psalm 119:18 says, “Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.”
With all of this being said, let the word light the way as a guide for you to follow. Let it light up the way ahead so that you can clearly see your next move. But also open your eyes for instruction and follow God’s direction, whichever way He shows you, because He will never steer you wrong.
Remember, Jesus is coming back soon! And those who endure unto the end shall be saved. So let’s be ready from the Inside Out!

I have a full time job as a Parent Advocate working with a non-profit organization mind you 11 yrs ago I once was a client at this same non-profit. However, I am grateful that God opened this door for me which I’ve been with them for 1 yr and 4 months. But, I desire to make more money I have my Associate’s Degree and life experience as well. What I bring home every 2 wks doesn’t even cover my full amount in rent not even speaking on other bills such as lights & gas, toiletries, food, clothing for myself and my 11 yr old daughter & plus she play’s basketball and piano. I’m also in school full time to obtain my Bachelor’s Degree because I desire to some day have my house and to do so much more. Srry I’m taking so long but I said all this to just say that I have been seeking a part-time job for extra money. How about a full time position came across my phone line & its basically working in the field I’m already working in meaning connecting clients with substance abuse issues to agencies or programs that can help them. Also, helping those in the community with mental illnesses and also home visits & more. The young lady asked me how much I wanted I didn’t know what to say. However, the phone interview went great so I have a face to face interview on Friday morning. I only want to do things in God’s timing and His will not mine. I need His guidance and for the Holy Spirit to speak to me.
Great post. The Holy spirit truly is our GPS!
