For starters, I’m not talking about being blocked from someone on Facebook or Instagram. However, if you are feeling blocked in that way, shake it off, my sister. Don’t even worry about it. Keep moving forward, instead. Don’t let that blockage be a hindrance to all that God is doing in your life. Forgive and move on. Amen!
Okay, now for the real reason that this post is being written this week. It’s actually a bit of a blast from the past, because initially I wrote this post back in 2014 under a different title. However, God saw fit to bring it back in this particular season for you. It’s also “super” revised. So with that being said, are you feeling blocked in some way?
What’s the blockage, sis? Are you experiencing some unexpected obstacles or hindrances in your life in some way? Is it on the job, at home, ministry, or your personal walk with God?
I want to tell you that whatever blockage you’re feeling right now, you can get through it. You can overcome it. You just have to dig deeper to clear the way. And this will start with examining your situation.
So think about it. Pray about it. Ask the Lord, “What is it, Father? What’s causing this lack of flow? What’s causing the disconnection or silence?” You have to ask these inquiring, yet tough questions to discover the answers to gain the clearance.
If you’re a writer (like myself), you may experience writer’s block. A few keys to getting through that is simply stepping away for a little while, taking a break or catnap, changing your atmosphere, or simply praying for a fresh perspective from the Lord’s wisdom.
If you’re feeling blockage in a relationship of some sort, a few keys can be waiting for the right time to talk about it, recognizing if you’re at fault in any way and need to make things rights, or if God is quite naturally severing a relationship (if it’s marriage, I encourage you to seek a godly counselor before you make any moves). But in any case, seek God for how to effectively remove the yucky feeling of the blockage. In other words, do your part and let God work on the supernatural breakthrough.
Now let’s go a little bit deeper and make it personal. Sometimes the opposition, obstacles, or blockage that we face can be us. Oh yes! It’s true. And it stems from the iniquities within. It’s the sins that are buried deep within our hearts, which can actually hinder our progress and God’s favor on our lives. Sometimes its sins that we are aware of, yet have decided to bury (for example like David and Bathsheba’s sin of adultery). And other times it can be things that we didn’t even really know were wrong (like offending someone unintentionally).
When you or I are in error in some form or fashion with the Lord, the Holy Spirit will prompt us to get it right with Him whether it’s known or unknown sin from the heart. The Bible tells us in Jeremiah 17:9-10, “The human heart is most deceitful and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? But I know! I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.” (NLT)
The lesson here is that God knows exactly where we are because of our hearts. There’s absolutely no hiding from Him. So once the Holy Spirit reveals to us the error of our ways through our heart-to-heart talk with God, then it’s our job not to suppress it even deeper. We have to get rid of the blockage through prayer, confession, godly sorrow, and genuine repentance. Then we can experience true freedom and begin to encounter success in our endeavors and a deeper spiritual walk with God.
So if God begins to reveal any bitterness, unforgiveness, jealousy, envy, bad attitude, lying, hypocrisy, or whatever is not like Him within you, then start the process of removing the blockage through your honest confession. You can pray His word saying, “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10) There’s so much power and freedom in speaking the Word...and confession.
Do what you have to do., sis. Remove the blockage today. Because it’s time to start moving forward, again.
Remember, Jesus is coming back soon! And those who endure unto the end shall be saved. So let’s be ready from the Inside Out!
