Yes, that’s right! You have a destiny! And God wants you to reach it. There’s something that you’re called to do on this earth, that has already been preordained for you to do. You are unique, different, and called to be set-apart for the Lord’s mighty service. You have work to do to help build God’s kingdom…and I do too. Amen! But don’t you know that when we are confident of this very thing, that we have a great enemy (Satan) that is like a roaring lion roaming around seeking whom he may devour and ready to kill, steal, and destroy everything that God has for us? Yet, even though he is there trying to wreak havoc in our lives DAILY, we (the flesh) can also be a great enemy against ourselves which could cause us to miscarry our purposes. Ouch! Yeah…I know right?! But that’s exactly why in order to reach our destiny, we have to release the weights that can hold us down from reaching our destiny.
Loaded opening right? But I’m telling you ladies, we’ve got to get rid of the unnecessary baggage that’s holding us back from fulfilling our purpose. Granted, some of you reading this may already be walking in your destiny, and I think that is absolutely awesome! And some of you may not. But guess what? Either way, as we walk out our purpose, we still have to be on guard, because the flesh is a mess! And I’m sharing this with you, because God loves you and He wants to see you finish this race strong and undefeated. Amen! So let’s go a little bit deeper.
Beware of the pitfalls as you do what God’s calling you to do. Remember, I talked about miscarrying earlier. What this means is you could actually cause some unnecessary detours, setbacks, and even miss the very thing that God has called you do by the ugly weight of sin. Hebrews 12:1 says, “…let us strip off the weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress. And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends on from start to finish. “ (NLT) There it is! Pretty clear, huh? That’s why it’s so important to zero in on anything that could possibly be causing you to miscarry, that dream or vision that God has given you. This is where self-examination comes in.
Where are you with this today? Are you stuck in a rut, or do you know someone else who could be in one? My suggestion would be to follow what the Scripture is saying above. Pinpoint what could be holding you back. What are the weights or sin? Is it unforgiveness or bitterness? This is a smothering thing, and it can lead to destruction. The Bible says in Ephesians 4:31-32, “Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of malicious behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” In so many words, let go and let God. Do your part and forgive. I know this is not that easy. I’ve been there before. However, I know how much of a hindrance unforgiveness can be, so I choose to release that weight, because I want to get to the place where God wants me to be. Don't you? It’s a choice sis. And when we do this, we can experience so much freedom!
Some other weights could be disobedience, lack of trust, anger, jealousy, slander, doing your own thing vs. the will of God? If it’s disobedience, go back to the point where you first disobeyed and do it. Oh my goodness, you’ll experience such a release! Been there too! Also, if it’s a lack of trust or struggling to do the will of God, recite and believe with everything within you Proverbs 3:5-7 which says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.” This is so powerful when activated!
Listen, whatever the weight or sin, strip it off, because it can easily hinder your progress. Also, cry out to the Lord for help. He’s waiting and ready to listen. Confess where you are and then repent. There is so much freedom in this. God is so willing and waiting to hear from His precious daughter, and there is nothing that you can’t work out together. So go ahead and release those weights girlfriend…because you’ve got a destiny! Let's finish this!
Remember, Jesus is coming back soon! And those who endure unto the end shall be saved. So let’s get ready from the Inside Out!

Dear Courtnaye..
Thank you very much for this awesome article..:)
Praise the Lord! So glad it ministered to you sis! God’s got a plan…let Him use you for His kingdom & glory. 🙂
Thank you, Courtnaye! I needed to be reminded of this very thing. My husband and I are having to leave our current job/ministry, because we are having another baby (they say we have to many now…4). My husband feels burdened to begin another ministry, but it seems humanly impossible, and we are both struggling with trusting this to the Lord. I appreciate your encouragement! HOpe your day is blessed!
Hi Winyah. I’ve been praying for you and your husband in regards to this. If God has allowed this to take place, then He has you and your family in the palm of His hands. He will never leave you, nor forsake you, sis. And remember with God all things are possible. So as you press to put your trust in Him, know that He will direct your path. I encourage you to be strong in the Lord my sister, because He’s got you. I’m grateful to God that you found this post right when you needed it. God bless you with His peace and wisdom. #forgiveness
