Blog Post

Really think about this for a few minutes. Actually, when you have a moment (after reading this blog post), grab a piece of paper, a pen, and write down what the perfect life would look like for you. Just dream for a bit. And have fun with it too! Begin with these words, “If I had the perfect life I would…”

Let me help you out with a few suggestions of how to accomplish this little assignment. Personally, if I had the perfect life, I would have a clean house all the time. Furthermore, I would show more acts of love and respect towards my husband. I would be more consistent in devotion with my kids. I would be debt free. I would have more time to study my Bible (I love my devotional time) and carve more time out of my day to write more blogs, articles, messages, update my website, and maybe even write a movie script. I would have more speaking engagements. I would be in Christian films, and the list could go on and on and on. Really! But enough about me, how about you? What would your list look like?

Actually, the real reason behind having you write all of this out is to get you thinking about what needs to change or be done in your life. It’s a creative way to get you moving towards achieving some goals on your list. Because in actuality, you’ll discover that a lot of those things that are on your list pertain to your purpose. Check out this excerpt from a book entitled, “10 Time Management Choices That Can Change Your Life” by Sandra Felton and Marsha Sims…

“Any life well lived must have an overall sense of purpose. When you ask yourself what would be the perfect life for you, you are really asking yourself, What is my chief purpose in life and how can that work out in my practical everyday activities? The closer our activities match our core beliefs and purpose, the more authentic our lives become.

As you read about different time management aspects and consider making changes to upgrade your way of life, eventually you will ask yourself why you should care about changing. Once you know why you are concerned about your time, you are on your way to the road to success. And at that point, you will want to write your own mission statement.”

So be on a mission sister!

Listen. In a nutshell, this post is really about time management and making some changes in your life as it relates to your life’s purpose. Because if you and I want to see progress in our lives, then we’re going to have to pray, re-prioritize, and make it our business to make those necessary changes. Personally, I believe that I can achieve those things on my list with God's help and according to His will. And I need to add here that NO, our lives will NEVER be perfect, but we definitely can strive towards achieving success by putting our faith into action. Amen!

I echo and encourage you with the words of Paul in Philippians 3:12-15 when he said, “I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things.”

It’s time to move forward! Become the woman who God has predestined you to be and let go of the past. Let Jesus work out your righteousness and bring forth change in your life through faith and the direction of the Holy Spirit. And don’t ever forget…we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength as Philippians 4:13 states. Be encouraged my sister, and press on!

*And if you don’t mind me asking, what would be some things that would be on your list? I’d love to hear from you and pray that you can begin getting some of these things done successfully.

Remember Jesus is coming back soon! And those who endure unto the end shall be saved. So let’s be ready from the Inside Out!
